this is NOT a guide for install, this is GUIDELINES
[well this isnt from that sub its actually from ME the MAKER of this SITE. HELLO. No i havent uploaded my dot files to Github yet. im lazy alright.]
im not the most experienced in linux, but this is more a starting point, some pointers, what you should know, warnings, and uhhhhhhh whatever else i come up with haha
to be completely honest you need a couple things.
that last part is SO important. if you go in thinking everything will work 100% of the time something will go wrong. This is like the blender of OS's, free, anti capitalism, but also you will not have any part of the OS holding your hand
fortunately, since its like Blender, this means that excessive Internet Documentation exists, ready to help you along
I will now list out a bunch of Threats
when chosing a desktop, I recommend XFCE because I know everyone Loves Plasma KDE, but I swear it ran worse than windows, no offense to the project but nigh unusable on my system
XFCE runs like butter on a Chispy Potato PC and has a bunch of user friendly features, it felt the most like an old Windows Desktop to me :D
the Desktop enviorment I use is Hyprland. it doesnt work like most interfaces you would be familiar with since its a Tiled Window Manager
its like the final boss of arch to me, if you can understand how to get it to work it is the Greatest thing on the planet and sometimes you cant figure out why its yelling about a missing character in the config until you realize theres a missing semicolon
have fun, really, hell you can ignore this entire post.
all i ask is you make cool things and continue, to make cool things
I might update this in the future who knows
